Child Abuse Prevention Campaign

April is Nation Child Abuse Prevention Month and we at Rider Goodwin Law feel it is important to know some of the common risk factors for child abuse. Common factors are the following: immaturity, unrealistic expectations, stress, substance use, intergenerational trauma, and isolation. While parents may be well-intentioned, those facts can contribute to parents causing harm or neglect. Here are some ways you can prevent child abuse. 
One of the goals for this campaign is not only to provide a time to acknowledge the importance of families and communities working together to prevent child abuse and neglect, but to highlight the organizations that are helping us do that! Child abuse and neglect is the sum of many interconnected issues, and these organizations are helping families and communities navigate the inherent nuances.
