Help! My Kid Isn't Athletic
The Colorado Children's Hospital recently wrote a great article about how to handle summertime if the kids in your life may not like traditional, sport-centered activities. Sometimes it's hard as a parent to get your child outside and moving, and Dr. Stuart offers some tips on how to get them out there.
1. Make it painless. Shift your approach from forcing them to do something to finding something they maybe more inclined to enjoy. Is your kid afraid of getting hit by a baseball? Try the swings at the jungle gym instead!
2. Play games. Spice up your walk by making it a scavenger hunt or play tag!
3. Get them on wheels! It's pretty close to being universal, but all kids love getting some wheels, whether it be a scooter or a bike!
